Capsule Hotel Room Tour (in Rotterdam)

capsulte hotel room tour in The CityHub capsule hotel in Rotterdam, Netherlands. i stayed here for five nights and had a great experience! Check in was smooth and you get a wristband which is your room key. You can also scan the wristband to purchase drinks/snacks from the vending machine and serve yourself drinks from the bar. It was convenient to wear this around our wrists the whole trip so we didn’t accidentally lose our key. The bed was large enough to sleep two people comfortably. The hubs are not sound proof at all and we talked in a hushed whisper the whole time. During the week this was fine because people were courteous about the noise but it can get noisy on the weekend, especially with the doors opening and closing. There’s an app that you download which controls the lights which was fun to play around with. One feature on the app is a “silent alarm” where the lights in your hub turn on at a time that you specify. This was really cool and effective, and was a silent way to wake up early without waking up our neighbors. The bathrooms are clean but shower shoes are a must - they sell shower shoes if you forget them. You are supplied robes which are nice for walking between your hub and the showers. Inside each shower stall there is shampoo and body wash, and a little shelf where you can put some toiletries. There are also two hooks for your robe and towel. The portable WiFi they loan you is a huge perk of staying here! The WiFi was fast and the charge lasted about five hours. The CityHub is located a two minute walk from a giant food hall which had a bunch of food from different cultures and drinks. It’s also located three minutes away from the bus station. If you’re expecting a roomy hotel with a private bathroom, don’t book here. But if you’re looking for a place just to sleep and get ready, definitely give this place a try! It was a really fun, unique, “high-tech” experience and I would stay in a CityHub again.
