Learn how to get the most out of your official GMAT practice exams. You only have six official GMAT practice tests. The non-official material is less likely to be an accurate benchmark, so you want to use the official tests wisely. You can use these to determine weaknesses and work on them. When should you take the practice tests? Take the first one up front and then do not take another one until you have worked on problem areas and made some progress in them. There are three common things that you should be doing each time you take the test. The first one is simulating test conditions. Work in a quiet room, at the same time of day, do not pause the test, take the sections in the same order, take your breaks, and use a dry-erase pad. After you complete the practice exam analyze your results for: knowledge gaps, careless mistakes, and time management issues. Set goals to measure your progress on these opportunities with homework results. We recommend recording all homework results in a spreadsheet so you have concrete data to show you how you are performing towards your goals. Remember to use your practice exams to make specific adjustments and tailor your study plan accordingly. __________________________________________________________________ Need help with your MBA applications?
