To fix the Broken Graphics Card fans I just went ahead and did the following 00:00 - Intro 00:30 - How To Repair Video Card Fan 03:01 - Before and After of the Graphics Card 03:15 - Outro 1) Remove the Fan casing by unscrewing the necessary screws on the back of the GPU. Then unplug the fan wire connected to the GPU’s board. 2) Unscrew the Fans from the casing. Each fan has 3 screws holding it down. 3) Separate the fan blades from the fan motor. This is the hardest part of the process if you are doing it by hand. Be sure to hold the motor end of the fan equally around the base. Not doing so will create an unequal distribution of force and the tension will break the plastic. When this happens the fan will be broken and you would have to buy a replacement. When you have your grip around the plastic just right, apply opposing pressure to separate the blades from the motor. It will be ready hard to separate the two so apply ample effort. 4) Clean the fan Motor and Blades. I used some WD40 to clean out the dirt and gunk inside of the fan. You can use some cotton buds to do this. Clean the center of the motor and all around the magnets. Just make sure to not leave any cotton fibers on the equipment. Next Clean the inside of the fan blade. 5) Lubricate the Fan. I used this Singer All Purpose Oil for this job. I applied a few drops on the center of the Fan Blade rotor mechanism - and then spread it out - and just like that the fan was spinning really fast. I also gave the fan motor a few drops of oil. 6) Re install the fan blades to the motor. This is easily done by aligning the centers and then pressing them together. And the fan is no longer sticky!! Now all you have to do is repeat the proces for the other fan. 7) Re assemble the GPU. Screw the Fans back to the case. Re attache the fan cable to the GPU board. Rescrew the Fan Case to the GPU.
