Music Provided By Epidemic Sound (https://www.epidemicsound.com) Recipe: 2 Cups All Purpose Flour 6 Tablespoons Frozen Butter 1 Tablespoon Baking Powder 1 Teaspoon Salt (1/2) Cup Sugar 1 Cup Frozen Chopped Strawberries 1 Cup Cold Buttermilk Preheat oven to 450 F. Lightly grease the bottom of a 9-inch round cake pan or cast iron skillet with shortening or use a sheet tray with a silicone baking mat. 1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt and make sure to whisk it together thoroughly. 2. Grate the frozen butter into the dry ingredients and use a rubber spatula to coat the butter in flour to keep from sticking together and then using a pastry cutter, food processor, or your hands, cut the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture looks crumbly. 3. Mix the vanilla extract into the buttermilk and pour it into the dry ingredients. 4. Using a rubber spatula, stir until a rough dough forms. 5. Using your hands covered in flour start bringing the dough together in the bowl but not completely. 6. Add in your frozen chopped strawberries that have been coated in a small amount of flour to help keep from sticking and work the strawberries. 7. Sprinkle flour on a flat surface and pour the dough out on top. 8. Begin to knead the dough into a soft ball. 9. Flatten and fold the dough 2-3 times because this will create layers in the biscuits. Now since we are using strawberries be mindful of adding more flour if needed because since strawberries don’t have a rind like blueberries the juices will escape quicker and make the dough sticky but use the flour sparingly to keep from drying out the dough. 10. Pat the dough out into a 1-inch thick rectangle. 11. Dip a cookie or biscuit cutter into flour and cut out 6-8 biscuits. Dip your cutter in flour each time and make sure not to twist the cutter when pressing down or you will seal the dough. You will need to reroll the dough to get the last biscuits and just add more flour to your hands and work surface to make the dough easier to work with. 12. Place the biscuits onto your prepared pan or sheet tray and brush the tops of the biscuits with with buttermilk. This will help brown the tops of them. 13. Place the biscuits into a preheated 450 degree oven for 8-12 minutes. 14. Remove from oven and brush biscuits generously with melted butter and have them glistening. 15. Make your glaze and coat and drizzle the top of the biscuits with the glaze.
