Commercially operating a drone OVER 55 lbs at takeoff (which includes most modern spray drones) involves an exemption from the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Special Authority for Certain Unmanned Aircraft Systems (U.S.C. 44807). Per this exemption, these large spray drones are subject to additional regulation, which can seem daunting to understand at first. Components of the exemption* consist of: Obtaining a class 3 medical certificate Getting your remote pilot license (often referred to as Part 107) Registering your drone* Securing authorization to operate under Part 137* (i.e. aerial applicator’s license). Part 137 allows operators to dispensing substances by air that: Acts as a pesticide, plant regulator, or defoliant Are meant for plant nourishment, soil treatment, propagation of plant life, or pest control Directly affects agriculture, horticulture, or forest preservation *Asterisk denotes services that ASD helps provide folks who purchase their regulations package How Farms Work Store ► https://www.HowFarmsWork.com/store.html Facebook ► http://on.fb.me/YpS8oH Follow us on Snapchat: ►   / howfarmswork   Business Inquiries: [email protected] CURRENT SCHEDULE Expect a new video every Wednesday and Sunday at 11AM Central! How Farms Work by Ryan Kuster is a YouTube channel based in rural Potosi, Wisconsin. Our mission is to teach those who didn't grow up on a farm what the farming life is like. These videos show the Kuster family working together raising cattle and crops. We believe everyone who wants to know more about farming should be able to share the farming experience with us and we look to educate the world on many essential agriculture topics. How Farms Work takes place on ~1,100 acres with around 75-200 cattle at any given time. Four John Deere tractors are currently used on the farm, which are a 4020, 4640, 7600, and 8235R.
