Snowshoeing Basics: Choosing Appropriate Footwear for Snowshoeing

As with any outdoor adventure, gear selection is often a highly personal matter. Choosing footwear for use when snowshoeing is no different. That said, I have found that certain types of footwear are more appropriate and functional than others when it comes to snowshoeing. In this video, I discuss the benefits and drawbacks of four different types of footwear that I’ve used over the years. They include: • Hiking shoes • Large snow boots • Snowboarding boots • Active snow hiking boots There are obviously countless types of outdoor-specific footwear available. So, it would be impossible for me to cover them all in a ten minute video. But through my comparison and contrast of the above types of footwear, you should be able to make a reasonable choice when it comes to selecting the most appropriate type of footwear (for you) when snowshoeing. •   / jaredmanninen   (monthly contributions of $3, $6, $9, $39, or $99) • https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/Jared...
