Japan joins European efforts for railgun research project

Interviews with representatives from Japan's ATLA and the French-German ISL regarding the recent agreement signed between the three countries to cooperate on railgun technologies. This interview was recorded during Eurosatory 2024 with Kyosuke Matsumoto (Director General of Technology Strategy at ATLA - Acquisition, Technology & Logistics Agency 防衛装備庁), Christian de Villemagne (French Director of ISL - Institute Saint Louis) and Michael Meinl (German Director of ISL - Institute Saint Louis). ===================== The Japan Ministry of Defence, French Ministry of Armed Forces, German Ministry of Defence and ISL have signed on 30 May 2024 an agreement paving the way for cooperation on railgun technologies. The agreement is intended to explore the possibility of collaborating for research, development, test and evaluation of railgun technologies by facilitating the information exchange and technical meetings among the four parties.
