How to Extract Vertices from Lines using ArcGIS | Feature Vertices to Points

To extract vertices from lines using ArcGIS, you can use the "Feature Vertices To Points" tool. Here's how: Open ArcGIS and add your line layer to the map. Navigate to the "Data Management Tools" ---- "Features" toolbox. Select the "Feature Vertices To Points" tool. In the tool dialog, select your input line layer as the "Input Features". Specify where you want to save the output vertices. Choose whether you want to create points for the start, end, or both start and end points of the lines. Click "OK" to run the tool. Once the tool completes, you'll have a new point layer representing the vertices of your input lines. After using the "Feature Vertices To Points" tool in ArcGIS to create points from the vertices of your lines, you can easily get the coordinates of these points. Here's how: Open the attribute table of the newly created point layer. If the coordinates are not already displayed, you can add two new fields (e.g., "X" and "Y") of type "Double" to store the X and Y coordinates. Right-click on the header of one of the new fields (e.g., "X") and select "Calculate Geometry". In the Calculate Geometry dialog, select "X Coordinate of Point" for the Property and choose the appropriate coordinate system. Click "OK" to calculate the X coordinates for all points. Repeat steps 3-5 for the "Y" field, but select "Y Coordinate of Point" in the Calculate Geometry dialog. Once you have calculated the X and Y coordinates for all points, you can now view them in the attribute table.
