Lessons We Can Take Away From the Tragic Story of Maya Kowalski

Watch as Bryan Pope, managing partner in The Cochran Firm – Texas and RSDSA Board Member, discusses Lessons We Can Take Away From the Tragic Story of Maya Kowalski from #TakeCareOfMaya. Bryan has spent the last 25 years developing a law practice that specializes in helping those who have been diagnosed with CRPS/RSD. He has represented clients in many states around the country (including CO, OK, MT, WA, TX, AL, PA, FL, OR, AR, CA, FL, VA, ID). His team stays on top of the new research, studies, and treatments, to better serve his clients. He frequently lectures to other lawyers about CRPS/RSD related legal issues, and has been a frequent speaker at RSDSA conferences. His law firm is a major sponsor of the RSDSA as he believes it’s important to support this amazing group in its mission. Bryan has represented over 100 clients who have been diagnosed with CRPS/RSD and has a real understanding of the incredibly difficult struggle that they and their families and support teams have in dealing with this devastating condition. He knows the tremendous toll that the physical pain and mental anguish have on those with CRPS and that it can be unfortunately, a life changing disabling condition. He has talked with many of his clients’ treating pain management physicians to help prepare his cases for the litigation process as well as make sure they will make good expert witnesses. He has also worked with some of the best experts in the field in getting the best treatment possible for his clients. He has seen his clients have every type of treatment modality, including nerve blocks, spinal cord stimulation, ketamine, etc. and has a real understanding for the medicine involved in these types of treatment….which is absolutely necessary for him to be the best advocate possible for his CRPS clients. Bryan brings a unique perspective as a litigator helping those with CRPS as he works with the medical community to make sure his clients get the best treatment possible and understand their path forward. He has developed a tremendous sense of empathy for his clients and knows the struggle is real. Bryan has recently been selected to the RSDSA Board of Directors and looks forward to carrying the mission forward to provide support, education and hope to all affected by the pain and disability of CRPS. Bryan has been selected for over 10 years in a row as a Texas Super Lawyer by his peers....an honor for only the top 5% of lawyers in the State of Texas. He has also been active as the President of the Dallas Trial Lawyers, an officer with the Texas Trial Lawyers, and on the Board of Governors of the American Association for Justice.
