Django Reinhardt used this progression as does every major jazz player in history and it's a very cool move to add to your playing. The example is in A major and there are four chord shapes you need to learn: 1. X02225 2. X03435 3. X04545 4. X07655 Once you have these shapes comfortable under your fingers strum through them out of time. Then play through them highlighting the top A note and making that the melody note. Where To Use This Sequence? You can use this sequence to decorate a static major chord. So when you're playing a solo piece and you come to rest on a major chord simply tag this on the end. It will give your playing that extra bit of class.
