HUMANKIND game released August 2021, and to mark about two years since the release of this 4X historical strategy game from Amplitude Studios, as a clear and direct competitor to Sid Meier's Civilization 6. Humankind launched to mixed reviews, hyped as the Civ 6 killer, leaving many players frustrated. Since launch, Humankind has seen some impressive free game updates and plenty of forum-based community discussion from the devs. Civilization is a legacy franchise, with 30 years of development history, and its a solid (the most played) 4X/ strategy game experience. In this video, two years on from Humankind's delayed launch, I'm reviewing Humankind and comparing it to Civilization 6 to ask: two years later, how has humankind changed? And how does Humankind compete with civ 6? This is my video response to all who continue to ask "how has humankind game changed?" "should I play civilization 6 or humankind?" and "has humankind changed much?".
