Mani Ratnam's Dil Se released 25 years back in 1998. The film has phenomenal actors like SHAH RUKH KHAN and MANISHA KOIRALA. The film has brilliant music and songs composed by legendary A R Rahman and lyrics of the songs written by none other than Gulzaar saab. People like Shekhar kapoor, Ram Gopal Verma and Mani Ratnam ( the holy trinity of 90s) produced the film. Although these many legendary people worked together on this film, Dil se failed at the domestic box office in India. But Dil se performed very well in overseas market. It was the first film to feature in UK top 10. This film kind of opened foreign markets for Indian films. Thanks to the overseas collection abroad, producers hopefully made profit. This video talks about the abstract nature of Mani Ratnam's work in the film. I tried to show how does the duo of Rahman and Mani Ratnam works together since years to make absolutely stunning albums...Also the video talks about the cinematography by legendary Santosh Sivan.
