Monkey Puzzle/Norfolk Pine is very soft and only attractive to turners because of the branch arrangement and sometimes some spalting. Spalted Monkey Puzzle/Norfolk pine is often blue-green and grey in colour. William Hunt's Default Woodturning Finish 1. Abrasive to 240 gr 2. Remove dust with airline then 3. Methylated spirits/denatured alcohol. 4. Apply a coat of cellulose sanding sealer diluted with 50% thinners. 5. After its dry, dennib using 0000 grade wire wool or fines abrasive pad much as 3M. 6.
