Alcapurrias is a dish I've been avoiding making on this channel since I started! These green banana fritters from Puerto Rico (also called frituras) also include other root vegetables, like plantain and yautia, and are filled with Picadillo- a seasoned ground beef mixture (the link for the recipe is in the description). I grew up eating these every week. My mom's Alcapurrias are amazing! It was like receiving gifts on Christmas whenever she decided to make them. I would also get my Alcapurrias-fix at the local bodega, but they couldn't hold a candle to the ones I enjoyed at home! I reveal the real reason I was so hesitant to make these myself, but now that I've made them, I'm kicking myself for not doing them sooner. Don't be like me; make these today!
