AI can be of great benefit to Statistical Programmers, but not in the sense of writing programs we ask it to write for us. The industry needs to take an eagle eye view of the Reporting Process and embed AI in a step-by-step approach, with the aim to reach 80:20 automation to programmer activities within the process. The importance and expertise Statisticians and Programmers bring to a team should not be underestimated compared to AI, but their input towards exploration and innovation is often limited due to time constraints. The talk will discuss how AI has roles at different stages of the reporting process that together with automation can unburden the experts, allowing them to spend more time on their expert fields and continuously drive the industry forward, ultimately delivering clinical trials quicker, bringing medication to patients earlier and at a lower cost.
