Didn't expect to see this today, did ya? Yeah, neither did I. In fact, I wasn't even sure if whether or not this tape actually existed, with me and I'm sure many others being recently clued in on its existence from their newest practice tape. "Hello, and welcome to the C.C.T.V. practice tape 2!" But where's practice tape number 1? Well, you're listening to it now. I got an email this morning while I was at work by a certain someone, entitled "CCTV - Live Rehearsal Tape". I instantly got giddy as heck, knowing damn well of what would be inside. Wanna know who sent it to me? Take a wild guess. Yeah, it was Erik Hart-vous A.K.A. my sugar pep-pep, he provided me with the rip that he got offa Rold Gold (like the pretzels). You might remember him from D.L.I.M.C.'s July Cassingle, he provided that rip as well. So, direct your thanks to them, without them this tape likely woulda been lost in the ether, they're way cooler punks than me, yadda yadda yadda, let's move on. This is C.C.T.V. They're a punk rock music group from Indiana. There's your bio, I'll save my breath and leave it at that because I know for a fact that most of you already worship them. This is what I'm assuming to be their first practice tape, which contains eight top-notch recordings of songs you should all be familiar with now, along with three throwaway recordings of an intro, interlude, and outro. This tape is absolutely fantastic, hell, I'd even argue that this is better than their second practice tape. With the instrumental interludes and blurbs between tracks, it feels more like an experience than just a recording dump. I mean, the damn tape opens with a Poison Idea cover! That's, like, the LAST thing I would've expected to hear on a C.C.T.V. release, yet there it is. Regardless of the fact that the lead immediately shuts it down, it's still neat. Even the recordings of songs we've heard a number of times already are still fresh, with a stronger emphasis on the keys being made this time around. C.C.T.V.'s incredibly fun, and this rehearsal tape is a more-than-welcome addition to their discography. Get it now. Oh, and if any of the tracks are misnamed, and if any of you fanboys feel compelled to call me out on it, direct your complaints to the sugar pee-paw. That's his doing, but I'm pretty sure he's labeled 'em all just fine. Forget I said anything. UPDATE 6/25/16: Erik got 'em wrong. Updated the track list and download link with the correct titles.
