The Origins of Halloween date back at least 2000 years to the time of the Celts during the Iron Age. The Celts were a group of tribes which inhabited what is now Ireland, The United Kingdom and Northern France. It started as a festival known as Samhain which was used to mark the beginning of the Celtic New Year November 1st, the end of the summer and the beginning of Harvest time. Celts believed that on the night before the New Year, the boundary between the world of the living and the world of the dead would be blurred and it would allow the dead to cross over and return to earth. Place hot water and sugar (1:1 ratio) in a blender with Blueberries. Blend on high until all is blended then fine strain the solids out. Lasts 2 weeks. Sangre De Los Flores 1.5oz (45ml) Mezcal 1.5oz (45ml) Blood Orange Juice .5oz (15ml) Lime Juice .5oz (15ml) Aperol .5oz (15ml) Hibiscus Marigold Syrup Garnish Marigolds To make Hibiscus marigold syrup heat 1 Cup water in a sauce pan and steep Hibiscus tea. After 3 minutes add 1 Cup sugar and 1/4 Cup Marigold petals and simmer 2 minutes. Remove from heat, let cool and bottle. Lasts 2 weeks in fridge.
