In 2018, a longstanding cultural practice returned to the land at Murphys Point Provincial Park. For the first time since park boundaries were drawn on unceded Algonquin territory, materials were harvested for the building of a birchbark canoe. Watch Chuck Commanda, an Algonquin from Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg First Nation, build a birchbark canoe and discuss its teachings.
