Part of the City Stitching Series This video is in two parts: Part 1: Rebuilding the Metro and Tram Lines Part 2: Riding the Manukau Tram Line It is time to review the transit system again after the last urban development push in Part 2.0 and 2.1. As a consequence of the last urban development run, two metro lines and a tram line come under review. The review includes 1) Extending the Metro track from the Airport to Manukau and out to Wiri 2) As a result of (1) redrawing the old Brightwater to International Airport Line, to become the Brightwater to Wiri via Airport and Manukau Line 3) Redrawing the Cape Solarian Line into the Cape Solarian Main Metro Lines 1 and 2 to take advantage of the loop allowing doubling of capacity We also redraw the Manukau Tram Line to remove it from a congestion hot spot in Manukau. The redraw also takes advantage of a track extension into the Manukau Redevelopment Area. Finally, we go riding said Line only for me to realise I need to divide the Line into two for maximum efficiency. This will be done in Part 2.2.3.
