Latest Update on Nexon EV The Tata Nexon EV is a fully electric SUV launched for the first time in India by Tata Motors. There is Ziptron electric powertrain tech. it’s the first vehicle by the company that is an electric vehicle to be sold to private buyers. There are three variants – XM, XZ+ and XZ +LUX. There is an ARI certified electric range of 312km on a single charge. There is an efficient high voltage system and there is a fast-charging facility with extended battery life and other safety features. The highlights of the car are electric blue that is stylish. They are inserted both from the exterior and the interior. There are three colour options like signature teal blue, glacier white and moonlit silver. They have got dual-tone treatment with a contrast roof. There is a projector headlamp, LED DRLs, auto climate control, keyless entry and a button start. There are power window, electric tailgate and steel wheel rim with EV highlight signature cover. There are add-on features such as electric sunroof, leather upholstery, automatic rain-sensing wiper, and auto headlamps with ambient and tunnel detection in the top-end variant of the car. There is a 7-inch dashtop touchscreen infotainment system made by Harman. There are 4-speakers and 4 tweeters. The navigation is based on smartphone. There is an option of video playback, voice command and other features. Tata Nexon EV Latest Updates With its launch set for May 11, Select dealerships have commenced the unofficial bookings for the long range Nexon EV. As the name suggests, it will get a bigger battery pack which will offer extended range over the current ARAI claimed range of 312km. It is also expected to get a more powerful electric motor along with a few mild cosmetic changes. Expect the updated model to be priced higher than the existing EV, which retails from Rs 14.54 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India). It is a cheaper alternative to the likes of the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona Electric. Tata Nexon EV Engine The Nexon EV utilises Tata’s new Ziptron electric powertrain. The electric motor develops 129PS of power and 245Nm of torque. It draws power from a 30.2kWH battery pack and has an ARAI claimed range of 312km. The Nexon EV’s powertrain supports fast-charging and is capable of juicing up from 0-80 per cent in an hour. Using a regular charger, it takes 8.5 hours for a 10-90 per cent battery recharge. The Tata Nexon EV is 3,993mm long, 1,811mm wide, and 1,606mm tall. It has a 2,498mm wheelbase. Tata Nexon EV Range Nexon EV can go upto 312km after a full charge. Tata Nexon EV Charging Time Nexon EV battery takes 60 Min(0-80%) to get charged. Tata Nexon EV Variants The Tata Nexon EV is offered in three variants: XM, XZ+, and XZ+ LUX. The last two are available in Dark Editions too. The SUV comes in three colour options: Glacier White, Signature Teal Blue, and Midnight Black (Dark Edition). Tata Nexon EV Features Exterior features in the Tata Nexon EV include projector halogen headlamps with LED DRLs, 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, and LED tail lamps. Inside, it comes with a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car technology, sunroof, a Harman sound system, climate control, steering-mounted audio control, cruise control, a multi-info display, and keyless entry with push-button start. Safety features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, a rear parking camera, and sensors. Tata Nexon EV Competitors The Tata Nexon EV doesn’t have any direct rivals in its segment at present.
