Hey gang, Keone here. I’ve been trying to find the right words to express what dance and I have been going through this year. Some deep questions had to be slow cooked in my noggin and simply put, I realized dance doesn’t fulfill me the way it used to. Or at least in the ways that other things I’m starting to fall in love with do. Other incredible non-dance-focused things that we’re so so excited to be working on that tug on my heart. And while dance is changing in my life, I notice the change in dance in general. While I personally can’t find fulfillment in adapting to some of these new social media norms, I’m glad others are flying in the wind and having fun with it. It’s just not me nor what I enjoy about dance. So please excuse me while I navigate this new balance of work. Of old and infant passions zig zagging through my brain and heart (and in these internet spaces). Meanwhile after this long soliloquy watch this new dance piece 🙄😆 No seriously though, it’s just me shaking hands with dance again. By moving to music that moves my soul. Me and dance cordially agreeing that we can hang out again. I’ll always love dance, but sappily enough I’m not in love with it… and I’m ok with that.
