G&L L-1000 Bass Un-Boxing and Mode Demos

One of the most fun parts of getting into playing the bass is finding the type of bass you want to pick up and play. P-Bass? Jazz Bass? Expensive? Inexpensive? Short scale? Long scale? American made? Korean, Indonesian or Mexico made? Since starting my bass quest on December 5th 2022, I have watched video reviews on You Tube, read articles, gone to stores to feel and play basses. I've decided I am more or less a Precision bass type of guy. Well I was born in 1958 so grew up hearing it whether I knew it or not. In my research I came across the G&l basses. Fullerton, California made in USA and Tribute models made in Indonesia I think. They all sounded so good to me and I loved the story behind G&L. They were not on my radar at all! Never heard of them. So I watched Low End Lobster on You Tube do his thing with a G&L CLF Research L-1000. In natural Swamp Ash. I was enthralled with the sound. And look. And relative simplicity compared to the L-2000. This led me to search as many videos as I could. Not really that many out there by bass You Tube video standards. The L-1000 is not available in the Tribute line. My heart was on this bass. It invaded my thoughts. Where I live there are no music stores that I could find that had this bass I could go see and play and feel. Started showing pictures to my wife Meg that are on the Sweetwater site. She told me i don't need to justify the buy. "Do you need it?" she asks. "no" say I. "Do you want it?" she asks. "Indeed oh yes oh yes" I say. I love quality things. Like my wife. She is quality. It is an early birthday gift. I finally got it and am truly enjoying exploring the depths of it's Soul. To the best of my new-boy/man bass playing abilities.
