“We set up our first set of goals more than a decade back. We invested heavily in Zero-Liquid Discharge (ZLD) plants. We have been able to create a circular economy in our waste management. We have also invested in solar and agri waste plants for power from renewable sources. Through our Self-Managed Teams (SMT) technical training programmes, we work with communities around our plants to create greater capability in young people for better employability skills. In the last 10 years, we have hired, educated, skilled more than 4,000 young people under this programme. Today they make up close to 30% of our workforce. We have now set even more ambitious ESG goals.” Our Global Head, Manufacturing, Sanjay Sharma’s message inviting colleagues from around our company to be a part of our ESG journey.
