Today on our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're going to be installing the Curt trailer hitch receiver, part number C12264. Now, here's what our hitch looks like installed on our vehicle. Now, we'll go ahead and give you a couple measurements in helping you choose some accessories for your hitch, such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost edge of the bumper is approximately 5 inches. From the top of the opening in the receiver to the ground is approximately 13 inches. Now, let's go ahead and install our hitch. Now, let's first point out our mounting locations on our vehicle. We'll go ahead and start over here on the driver side. Now over here on the driver side, there will be a total of three mounting locations. One here, here, and here. Now over here on the passenger side, there will be two mounting locations. One here and one right there. Next, we're going to need to remove the bolt that holds the exhaust bracket in place at two locations. One right here, so we'll go ahead and pull this bolt out. The other bracket is located right here. Go ahead and take this bolt out as well. Next, we're going to need to remove the hardware from the five mounting locations. Now, we will be reusing the hardware to mount our hitch to the vehicle. A quick tech tip. To make removing the bolts and re-installing them a little bit easier over on the passenger side if you go up to the third exhaust hanger bracket and remove that bolt as well. It will allow you to move the exhaust around enough to gain access to the hardware. Now, it's a good idea to get an extra set of hands to help you raise the hitch up into position. Go ahead and at least get one bolt installed hand-tight on each side to support the hitch. One that's done, you can go ahead and install the remaining hardware. With all the remaining hardware installed, we can go ahead and tighten it down and torque it to the manufacturers specification. Now, we'll go ahead and re-install any exhaust hangers that we may have removed. That will do it for our installation of the Curt Trailer Hitch, part number C12264, on our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan. .
