Last week Spain was hit by the deadliest flash flood in Europe in half a century. More than 200 people had been confirmed dead in flash floods and a further 2,000 had been reported missing, making it Europe’s deadliest flash flood in half a century. About 40,000 homes were still without electricity and entire towns reliant on bottled water brought in by charities and government agencies.
