This wild spot ended up on the cover of DIG Issue 2023, released this past winter. "All the anticipation leading up to our arrival was kind of intense, but in a paradoxically relaxed way. It was essentially the primary goal of our entire trip, after all. Even with John’s experience from his prior visit, it was all completely up in the air. There were so many variables at hand, it was still kind of uncharted territory and filled with uncertainty. Hoping the park entrance attendant wouldn’t ask too many questions and let us in. Hoping we could get the materials needed to build a deck, and even just being able to get them to the cup. Hoping the deck would help generate enough speed to actually air out of it (for Corey, at least). Hoping the diamond-shaped glass windows dotted all over the inside of the cup would not shatter in the event one was ridden over (precision airing required). Hoping we would still have enough light to document the experience, despite a fast-setting sun. Hoping there were no injuries, as it’s located in the middle of nowhere. And then, after all that, figuring out a few days after our initial visit that a larger deck might be the ideal way to air out of it higher, and making a second journey back could be worth it. Literally going through the process all over again—getting more materials and hoping it would be smooth sailing a second time." - ROB DOLECKI READ THE FULL STORY IN DIG ISSUE Number 2023 https://digbmx.com/dig-this/dig-book-...
