She and I connected on a live performance where she signed my rap verses. Her interpretation was so incredible. Backstage she shared so much about the deaf community and I was so moved by how she's working to make music spaces more assessable. My little brother was born with Downs Syndrome and attended a deaf school and taught me sign language when we were children. He recently transitioned into the spirit realm and became my most beloved ancestor. Watching her sign reminded me of him and just brought me to tears.
