Replacing the needle valve set. Adjusting float height, rejetting, and pilot screw adjustment on 1997 Yamaha Virago XV1100 Mikuni motorcycle carburetors. Same as models 1988-1999 Update: After reinstalling the carburetors you should synchronize them. It is also important to check the boot connections from the carburetors to the intake and to the heads. This can be done by spraying carb cleaner on the boots as the engine is running. If the idle changes, you have a leak. These air leaks can cause a lean burning condition and could cause backfiring or popping on deceleration. Mine were leaking and I ordered new boots and o-rings. The bike now runs great and has noticeably more power and responsiveness.
