Fan systems are large energy users at many industrial and commercial sites, with numerous opportunities to make significant energy saving improvements, often through relatively minor and inexpensive system modifications or control set point adjustments. With most fans integrated into complex systems it is critical to understand the system as a whole to ensure an optimal outcome, beyond just the basic energy savings. This webinar outlines the fundamental principles of establishing your system curve, and how fan selection and fan control strategies can impact on the stability and efficiency of the system as a whole. Several industrial case studies are used to demonstrate the use of systems curve analysis to make gains in system capacity (de-bottlenecking), reliability and energy efficiency. It will be of interest to energy managers, operational and maintenance personal, technical staff, and engineers. This free webinar, sponsored by the EECA Business programme, was presented by Dr James Neale, a Senior Mechanical Engineer from the University of Waikato Energy Research Centre and took place on 17 February 2016.
