He is an advocate for Mahayana Buddhism and is regarded as the common patriarch for all the Mahayana schools in Chinese Buddhism. It's important to note that Bodhisattva Nagarjuna also sought rebirth to the Pure Land and recommended the Pure Land Dharma to all as it's the easiest path to realise Buddhahood in one lifetime (after rebirth) due to Amitabha Buddha's power. The Pure Land Dharma is suitable for all people with different levels of capacities and good roots.
