Wing Foil tacking- land practice and tips

For safety you should always wear a helmet when riding on a hard surface, don't follow my bad example! After a wing foil session in Hawaii Kai, I pulled out my land board to practice tacking in both directions. Using a skateboard or land board allows you to fully focus on wing handling and carving through the turn without having to worry about the foil and maintaining the right altitude and speed. This is really helpful practice if you want to learn how to tack on the water while wing foiling and I hope that watching and visualizing the movements helps you when learning this tricky maneuver that will help you stay upwind. I mean to post our second voiceover video today that we recently recorded with my wing foiling buddies but the large file failed to upload properly, so I will post that video next week, stay tuned to the blueplanetsurf YouTube channel for the premiere next Saturday at 7 am. I bought the Slingboard online a few months ago and it was a good deal, around $150 but unfortunately, the business has closed and the board is no longer available. A regular skateboard will work just as well as long as you have a smooth surface.
