Michael's restaurant, a renowned fine dining establishment with nearly 20 years of history in downtown St. Augustine, is set to relocate to the Hyatt Place at 117 Vilano Road in Vilano Beach. The restaurant, currently located at 25 Cuna St., will cease operations at this location on December 31, with the new venue expected to open in February 2025. The move is overseen by Michael Lugo, the executive chef and owner of Viva Hospitality, which also includes Pesca Vilano and La Nouvelle. The new location, previously occupied by Pesca, offers several advantages such as intimate dining areas, ample parking, expanded kitchen and refrigeration space, and a larger wine library. Persistent flooding, infrastructure problems, power outages, and parking difficulties at the current site influenced the decision to relocate.
