To many visitors it's a tiny kitchen, but to a submarine officer it's one of the small perks of command that made life under the sea a bit more comfortable. A feature of all fine homes, the pantry on a sub was the domain of the sub's stewards. Food cooked in the larger galley was plated and served to the ward room by the stewards from this phone booth-sized compartment.
