Onboard a 9 car Class 800 IET (800303) on the 0846 service from London Paddington to Penzance covering the Journey as far as Exeter St Davids. Calling at Reading, Westbury, Castle Cary, Taunton and Exeter St Davids The route between London Paddington and the 1st stop at Reading our train travels over the Great Western Main Line built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Between Hayes & Harlington and Burnham we deviate onto the slow lines due to track work on the fast lines between Langley and Slough At Reading departing Platform 7 our train diverges away onto the Reading to Basingstoke Line through Reading West before diverging onto the Berks and Hants Line eventhough the route doesn’t go into Hampshire itself. After Newbury the overhead wires end and the trains continue on biomode all the way to Penzance. Then we call at Westbury which provides interchange for services to Bristol. Swindon, Cardiff, Portsmouth Harbour and Weymouth as well as a few services via South Western Railway. After leaving Westbury we rejoin back onto the main line before passing the Junction for services via Frome which rejoins again before Bruton Then we call at Castle Cary which is also served by services for Weymouth via Yeovil Penn Mill and occasionally limited South Western Railway services. Just Before Taunton at Cogload Junction we join up with the original route of the Bristol to Exeter Line from Bristol Temple Meads served by CrossCountry Trains and GWR services from Cardiff Central and London Paddington After calling at Taunton we run non stop through Tiverton Parkway On approach to Exeter St Davids we pass Cowley Bridge Junction where our route joins up with the Tarka Line from Barnstaple as well as the Dartmoor Line services from Okehampton which was reinstated in November 2021 and nowadays operates hourly services since May 2022. At our final stop at Exeter St Davids our train arrives into Platform 4 which after leaving the train it will then continue on the rest of it's journey along the Riviera Line to Newton Abbot then the South Devon Line to Plymouth and then the Cornish Main Line from there all the way to Penzance.
