Life of Empress Dowager Cixi's daughter-in-law: Outlived the dynasty and died in modern time

The famous Empress Dowager Cixi, had five daughter in law. In 1871, when Emperor Tongzhi crowned his empress Aluteshi, Dowager CiAn and Dowager Cixi selected four concubines for the emperor. Three of the four concubines outlived the Qing dynasty, and two of the three died in 1930s. Which means, the three concubines witnessed the regency of the two Empress Dowager CiAn and Cixi, the short reign of their husband Emperor Tongzhi(1872-1875), the mysterious death of Dowager CiAn in 1882 and absolute reign of Dowager Cixi from 1882 to 1908. They witnessed the tragic life of Emperor Guangxu (Reign 1875-1908) and Concubine Zhenfei. They witnessed the Boxing Revolts in 1900, and army of eight industrialised nations occupied Beijing and Forbidden City Palace. During the occupation, Dowager Cixi escaped to central China with Emperor Guangxu, she killed Concubine Zhenfei before escaping Beijing and left the widows of her own son Emperor Tongzhi in Beijing in danger, Dowager Cixi forgot them, they were like the ghost of the palace. The royal concubines met the general Alfred Graf Von Waldersee, asking the military to not enter inner court of Forbidden City Palace, to show his respects to the widow royal concubines, the general agreed. In 1911, the Republic Revolution ended the 268 years long dynasty, the royal family remain living in the Forbidden City. The Republic Govt promised that they will respect the Emperor Puyi and Dowager Empress Longyu (Empress of Emperor Guangxu) and treat them the same as they would treat to other foreign monarch. 1924, after the death of Imperial Noble Consort Jinfei (Concubine of Emperor Guangxu), there were only two of the Emperor Tongzhi's concubines alive. They left the Forbidden City along with the Puyi, the last emperor, by the force of war-lords, 52 years after their wedding.
