Overlay of front brake rotor temperature distribution at Virginia International Raceway (VIR). Rotor temperature data gathered using Izze-Racing's 16-Channel Infrared Temperature Sensors; see website for details: https://www.izzeracing.com/products/i... The brake temperature version of the sensor will be available by the end of October and can measure temperatures up to 950˚C, with 1, 4, 8, or 16-channels, at an update rate of up to 32Hz. Note that the rapid temperature fluctuations are almost certainly "hot spots" caused by thermoelastic instability (TEI) - it's very common. See this paper for more details: https://www.izzeracing.com/TEI_BP1.pdf CAN data from sensors is measured and processed using a MoTeC C-Series data acquisition system. Stock AP1 Honda S2000 with JRZ dampers, 245 NT-01 tires, and Cobalt XR1/XR2 pads. No aero. No power steering. Front: 0" toe, -2.2 degrees camber, 625 lb/in spring rate (WR = 320 lb/in) Rear: 1/8" toe-in, -3.4 degrees camber, 550 lb/in spring rate (WR = 250 lb/in)
