Photography Basics- RAW or JPEG? (Malayalam)

This video is the second part of basics of photography. In this video, we discuss why one may capture raw photos over jpeg and also the difference between RAW and JPEG. Raw is an uncompressed file with 12 or 14-bit information, i.e. about 4 trillion tones per channel (RGB), while jpeg is just 8 bit with 16.8 million tones. It is easy to recover the shadow and mid-tones and highlights of a raw file with the help of programs like Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop while unless it's correctly exposed it's quite impossible to do so in jpeg. Raw is again a high-quality file with tons of information. Moreover due to its nature one really need not be worried about white balance or camera profiles. As a whole raw is a better option compared to jpeg despite its huge size moreover a raw is non-destructive in nature whereas jpeg is small it's not non-destructive in nature. The more you edit the more you are gonna lose the details in a jpeg.
