It's the holiday season so we're watching holiday films! Today I'm watching, reacting, and commentating on the animated classic Barbie in the Nutcracker. The movie that started the entire Barbie film franchise. I loved this movie growing up. I think it's a holiday classic. I haven't watched it in years so I thought this would be the perfect time to do it. Also, for whatever reason, I decided to do it while drinking and being slightly intoxicated. So here we are. Enjoy. Barbie in the Nutcracker is a 2001 American-Canadian direct-to-DVD computer-animated film directed by Owen Hurley. The film is loosely adapted from E. T. A. Hoffmann's The Nutcracker and the Mouse King and music based from Tchaikovsky's ballet The Nutcracker. The film sold more than 3.4 million units on DVD by 2002, and grossed $150 million in total sales.
