Walrus Audio D1 v1 vs v2: Better, worse, the same, or all of the above?

Has the v2 of the Walrus Audio Mako Series D1 made the the original obsolete? Is it worth upgrading if you have a v1 already? The answer to both questions, predictably, is "It depends" - but watching this demo should definitely help. The D1 is a multi-mode digital delay pedal that's especially good at the sweet, soft-edged stuff. For this video I've picked three of its best sounds and matched them up as closely as possible across the two versions. Oh, and the 'double take' about 35 seconds in? The D1 has nine preset slots, arranged in three banks (A, B and C). You can toggle through the three in each bank by hitting both footswitches; the right LED changes colour accordingly. This is a nice system but sometimes, especially if you're sitting down, the double stomp doesn't quite come off.
