Exploring the immense BEAUTY and amazing diversity of Florida Keys SEA GRASS beds! I love sea grass! It's not only a young Green Sea Turtles favorite food! Seagrass beds also provide food and shelter for tons of different sea life. They also act as a nursery where many different species of fish begin their life and live until reaching maturity. Plus, seagrass beds also help keep the water clear as well as helping to prevent erosion!!! Let's follow the hermit crab into the sea grass forest and see what we can fin! The seagrass beds are VAST.. They can stretch miles without anything besides grass.. But every once in a while I happen upon a little "town" made up of some sea fans, rocks or coral. It's kinda like the seagrass beds are the rural areas of the ocean, and the little coral heads scattered throughout are small towns, and the reef is the city.
