Epilepsy effects the lives of tens of millions of people around the globe, yet it remains a mystery to most people, almost a taboo subject. In this frank talk Adele describes the impact epilepsy has had on her life as a child, an adult and a mother. She shares her journey through despair to triumph with the help of a radical solution. Adele Hauwai is of Ngati-Maniapoto, Ngati-Kahungunu, and Tuhoe descent. She is a Co-Founder of SeeCom, Talk Medicine, and is a board member of Healing Innovation Hub. Beyond experiencing traumatic brain injuries and also abuse as a child (causing epilepsy and many other challenges), she's always learnt to use her heart as her brain. She has university degrees in Special Education and Business. Her passions include learning, helping others, entrepreneurship, & sign language.
