Recently I bought the Echo Show 8. Here's what to expect. I want to say that I looked online for recommendations for a smart display, and this is the one I chose to go with over the Google Hub Nest as well as the Amazon Echo Show 8 2nd gen 2021. (see below for referred links) Reason being, the first gen was at a great price, The 2nd gen is nearly double the price and not too different. The Nest doesn't have a camera for video calling. This thing does exactly what I'm looking for and then some. Half of this video is me going through the menus. (sped up)((there's quite a bit to explore)) I don't talk in the video, I cut my voice out of it but the Alexa responds as you'd expect it to. It was really easy to set up. I wanted a way to video call my grandmother who doesn't live close to her grand/great grandkids so I bought one to send her so she could see us more often.
