Hey, Alan here from How To Videos and today we are going to show you how to edit Facebook video. The talk is, Facebook video is supposedly taking on YouTube and challenging them so Facebook can become the go to video hub on the web. We don't know if that will ever happen, but if Facebook wants to make a real push in that direction, they need to at least give people a way to easily edit Facebook video. You can edit Facebook video, there is already a way to do that, but finding it at the present time is a little more than difficult. The usability experts at Facebook must just think we are supposed to intuitively know how to do all these things, but that's not always the case. So, here's how you edit a Facebook video… First, you can't really edit the video itself, you can't even do that on YouTube, but you can edit all the information about the video. So here goes. Go find the video you want to edit, like this one here like it is in your timeline. You can click on the little edit post button here at the top right of your post, but that just lets you edit the text of the post. What if you want to edit the tumbnail, or choose a custom one, or give your video a title for example, how do you do that? The secret is, you have to get the video in a pop out or on its own page to do this. So click on the time your video was uploaded and that will take you to the actual posts permalink. Once you are there click on Options and then Edit This Video and then you get this screen here where you can give your video a title, change the description, upload a captions file, which unlike YouTube where you can just paste in your script, you need a captions file for, and you can also tag people in the video and or put in a location where you shot the video. And when you are done just hit save and all that new info will now be associated with your video. That's how you edit Facebook Video.
