I've had a bunch of crypto locked up in Celsius while they went through the bankruptcy process, but I finally got my settlement from their earn program. I had already told myself that I was never going to see any of that money again, so getting anything back from them was nice, but a lot of people are going to be disappointed in the amount they get. 00:00 - Introduction 00:30 - What Is/Was Celsius Network? 03:15 - My Celsius Reimbursement 06:43 - What I've Learned 08:35 - What Did I Do With the Crypto? 10:55 - Conclusion Celsius essentially sold off all our crypto assets when BTC was around $19k and then bought them back at like $43k and gave us part of that amount... so there's a lot of discrepancy and a lot of people did not get back what they were expecting. Also, no matter what coins you held in Celsius, you only got back BTC or ETH. And it's not that they aren't giving you the other coins back, it's that everything was liquidated and in order to pay back earn customers, they are only paying back balances in ETH or BTC. So your overall total still takes into account what you held in other coins. Should have done the math before the video, but it looks like at the date that Celsius filed for bankruptcy (July 13, 2022) my crypto in Celsius was worth ~$3547. The screens I show in the video are with today's prices. So I lost about $1000 from what it was when they filed for bankruptcy and about $5000 from what it would have been with the prices today. Who knows if I would have kept it all in there this whole time, but it definitely would have been in crypto somewhere.
