House 'Floats' Over the Sea in Rio de Janeiro with Wave-Shaped Roof

Wave House: This remarkable residence is situated 180 meters above sea level, on a granite monolith, from where it majestically gazes out over the Atlantic Ocean. A notable feature of this narrow plot is its southern orientation, a detail the architects wisely maximized. Facing south, its floor-to-ceiling windows capture unparalleled views of the vastness of the ocean, extending as far as the eye can see. The waves and maritime motion served as an inspiring muse for the design of the house's roof. The undulating roofs, made of wooden planks, evoke the waves breaking on the shore, creating a play of light and shadow that adds a touch of magic to the setting. Furniture predominantly in wood, wooden floors, and soft, subtle lighting bring life to an environment full of tranquility. A glass hydraulic elevator provides access to all four floors of the house. The layout of the residence is equally impressive. The access floor houses the kitchen, main service areas, dining room, and main living room. Just above, you'll find rooms for staff, a guest room, and a TV room. Descending to the next level, a direct connection with nature becomes evident. A sinuous infinity pool seems to float above the sea, separated from the interior by a lush garden. A spacious area dedicated to relaxation and celebration offers a gourmet kitchen, a bar, lounging areas, sauna, and changing room. Continuing the exploration, we arrive at the top floor, a family oasis comprising three ocean-facing suites, a library, a children's room, and a family room. The harmony between interior and exterior spaces is paramount in this architectural masterpiece.
