The ZE-X, a camera with some significant weaknesses, arose near the end of the Osawa era for Mamiya's 35mm cameras. The later Osawa Mamiya bodies cut some manufacturing corners and used components that have not held up well with time. The ZE-X has a reputation, not unfairly earned, as the least-reliable body in the ZE series. That said, if you have one upon which you can rely, the ZE-X has very nice ergonomics, is light to carry, and packs a number of features into the camera's small body. In addition, the ability to use the previous-generation NC lenses (demonstrated in Video 2) adds versatility and lens options to this camera.
