2,400 structures were damaged or destroyed along with the occurrence of several fatalities and nearly five dozen injuries, with all of this being caused by a major volcanic eruption of the Lewotobi volcano. Yet, while the worst may now be past us, Lewotobi's summit morphology has seemingly changed, putting new areas at an increased risk in the future.
