CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test ) is a national level entrance exam conducted by CBSE for appointing primary and elementary teachers in Central Government Schools. It is conducted twice a year. The eligibility criteria for the exams are as follows: Your minimum age should be 18 years. 1. For the Primary level exam, You must have passed senior secondary with at least 45 % marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year diploma or 4 years of B.EL.Id or have a graduation degree in relevant discipline. 2. For an elementary level exam, you must have a graduation degree with at least 45 % marks and passed or appearing in a 2-year diploma or B.Ed or B.EL.Id or B.A/B.SC.Ed. There are two papers in this CTET exam-Paper one for class I to V and Paper second for class VI-VIII. Candidates aspiring to teach classes I to VIII need to take both the papers. It also serves as a qualifying exam which makes a candidate further eligible for other exams for teachers like TGT, PGT, etc. A candidate who qualifies for CTET has seven years as the validity period for his CTET certificate for an appointment.
