Is Norton Antivirus Better than McAfee?

Is Norton Antivirus better than McAfee? Norton and McAfee have the same base price, but Norton does not go on sale really. I really do not care about price, but quality. A less effective antivirus software means I’m at greater risk of financial data loss – and I’d rather pay thirty dollars more than risk losing three thousand in my bank account. Norton’s real time antivirus capability of recognizing infected files or websites trying to act or react is better than McAfee. McAfee’s is still better than average. Average is not good enough in this case. Norton is considered better at removing actual viruses you may have. And Norton wins when it comes to monitoring for spyware. Including those you get from scan my PC sites. The scary part is that those sites are more likely to give advice to delete critical files on your registry, then use the blue screen of death as proof you need to pay them to fix your system even more. So which one should I get – McAfee or Norton? If you use USB drives all the time, Norton, because McAfee actually does worse than Norton on scanning thumb drives. I prefer to live on the cloud. Norton is easier to install and better at managing resources. As long as the antivirus itself does not slow me down as much as a virus, I’m fine. Norton gets higher marks for its user interface, though both are about par for tech support. How’s the warranty? Norton’s is twice as long, up to two months. Norton may have the more boring name, but it sounds like the better product. But I heard the PC magazine ratings were a tie. Norton 360 was rated a PC editor’s choice, which is like the Consumer Reports best buy. McAfee got three and a half to four stars, depending on the product. I’ll go with what the pros recommend. Why was one of the leading brands, McAfee, so low on their ratings? The firewalls were lousy, the full scan took forever, and parental controls do not do much to keep kids under control on the internet. I do not know if anything can control kids on the internet. How about unplugging it? Norton’s only weakness was the challenge of installing it if the PC already had malware, and it did not play nice if you had a different anti-virus tool on the PC. So I’ll make sure I remove McAfee before I install Norton.
