The Karmapa, head of the Karma Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, is a deep thinker, environmentalist, artist and animal rights advocate. First time celebrating his birthday at his North American seat, KTD Monastery, in Woodstock NY, as this incarnation, 17th Karmapa. About 1,000 people showed up for a day of food, exquisite performance and ceremony.
